Mechanical Engineer—Entry Level

Sigma-Netics has an immediate entry-level position for a highly motivated, self-starter mechanical engineer. The successful individual will join the new product development team in Riverdale, New Jersey to conceptualize, design, and develop new products such as pressure switches, transducers, aneroids, thermostats, and bellows assemblies, for aerospace, military, medical, oil and gas, food, off- road equipment, etc. The design engineer will work closely with customers, sales, suppliers, manufacturing engineers, and quality departments throughout all phases of the product development cycle. The successful candidate must be creative and possess excellent analytical and problem solving abilities, be energetic and a self-starter with strong communication skills who works well in a team environment.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Qualifications:

  • Fundamental Project Management skills a plus
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks is highly desirable
  • Strong problem solving skills using sound engineering principles
  • Basic knowledge of geometric dimensioning a plus
  • Ability to work with others in a cross functional team environment
  • Willingness to travel on a limited basis within the U.S. and overseas

Mechanical Design Engineer

Sigma-Netics, Inc., innovator in miniature pressure and vacuum switches, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with the following responsibilities:

  • Manage new product development projects from concept through initial production
  • Work closely with customers, sales, and other internal resources to assess RFQ requirements and generate engineering proposals
  • Develop design concepts and work with manufacturing engineering to develop means of manufacturing and cost structure
  • Develop qualification test plans
  • Maintain project schedules
  • Lead cross-functional teams for NPD projects

The Ideal Candidate must possess:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
  • 10+ years of experience as a project design engineer developing similar products (e.g. pressure switches, small valves, mechanical gauges, small pumps) for the aerospace/military and industrial markets
  • US citizenship
  • Proficiency using SolidWorks, Pro-E, or similar CAD software
  • Solid knowledge of machining operations
  • Demonstrated ability to be creative
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems methodically and using sound engineering principles
  • Hands-on experience working in a fast-pace environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Industrial Engineering Intern—Summer 2018

Sigma-Netics has a summer internship opening for a Junior level industrial or manufacturing engineering student. The successful individual will work as a member of our manufacturing engineering team in our North Jersey facility to support the manufacturing of new and existing products. The student will gain valuable experience in areas such as fixture and tool design, workflow analysis, production cell design, generation of process travelers, time studies, etc. Products include pressure switches, transducers, aneroids, thermostats, metal bellows assemblies, and actuators for use in aerospace, military, medical, oil and gas, food, off-road equipment, etc. The successful candidate must be hands-on and possess excellent problem solving abilities, be energetic and a self-starter with strong communication skills who works well in a team environment.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering Major (Junior Level)

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of SolidWorks highly desirable
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Basic knowledge of geometric dimensioning a plus
  • Ability to work with others in a cross functional team environment
